Next meeting, November 3rd, we will be holding elections for committee chair and presidential positions to be filled for the spring semester. This year’s elections are your chance to run for a leadership position in a growing and very reputable student organization. This email will briefly describe each of the available positions and what those who are interested in running must do to prepare for Election Day. If you have further questions regarding each of the available positions, please contact the ESA presidents or check the club website www.esaua.com for more information.
Committee Head Positions – If you are interested in running for a committee head position please plan to speak for 30 seconds about your reasons for running. Elected committee heads will take over Spring Semester and hold their positions till November, 2010.
VICE PRESIDENT OF MEMBER RELATIONS: The vice president of member relations is responsible for keeping records of club membership points and meeting attendance, managing the club mentor program, and supporting the presidents. The VP of Member Relations is one of the most important club positions and potential candidates should know they will be playing a key role in the future of our organization.
VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE: The ESA’s VP of Finance is responsible for keeping club financial records and keeping the president’s informed of the status of the club’s coffers.
SOCIAL COMMITTEE: The social committee is comprised of individuals who want to help facilitate the building of long-lasting relationships between members in the club. In the past the ESA social committee has hosted socials at Golf ‘n’ Stuff, Lucky Strike Bowling and other entertainment venues to help strengthen internal relations in the ESA.
EVENT PLANNING COMMITTEE: The Event Planning committee helps set-up and plan club trips throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. The committee’s responsibilities include scheduling flights, booking hotels, and arranging trip activities for the ESA members to participate in during the trip. These trips are designed to help ESA members learn more about entrepreneurship on a national scale.
PHILANTHROPY COMMITTEE: The philanthropy committee is one of the ESA’s most active committees, and has been consistently involved with organizations like the American Cancer Society and with projects like the Eller College Philanthropy series. The philanthropy committee regularly plans and sets up events designed to support and promote local community happenings and charitable events.
FUNDRAIDING COMMITTEE: The Fundraising Committee is responsible for raising money to help support the ESA. Funds raised from events such as our annual April Madness 3-on-3 basketball tournament goes directly to help cover the costs of ESA member T-shirts and polos, food at meetings, and planned trips. The ESA fundraising committee is a great place for creative ESA members that are interested in employing new and exciting fundraising techniques to help strengthen our organization’s financial position.

Presidential Positions – If you are interested in running for club president please plan to speak for 1 minute highlighting your reasons for running.
Club presidents are the glue that holds the ESA together. Presidents will determine new club initiatives and make sure they are carried out in a manner in which the club can be proud of. In the past we have found that the club runs best with three presidents sharing responsibilities. Since the inception of the ESA, EVERY CLUB PRESIDENT THAT HAS APPLIED HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE MCGUIRE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM.
